Goodell reiterates his want of labor deal
Eds: APNewsNow.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is
calling for more productivity between the league and the players
association toward getting a new labor agreement completed.
Speaking at his annual state-of-the-league address during Super
Bowl week, Goodell says fans “expect solutions … and we should
deliver” on a new collective bargaining agreement.
The NFL Players Association said Thursday that it is bracing for
a lockout in 2011, after the current labor pact expires. Goodell
said he and the league’s owners want an agreement and it’s
“absolutely false” that owners would want to see a work stoppage.

All-Star thank-you: Forward gives away 500 tickets
Eds: APNewsNow.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Now this is quite a thank-you to Memphis
Grizzlies’ fans from forward Zach Randolph.
The nine-year NBA veteran wants to celebrate being selected to
the All-Star team for the first time in his career, so he is giving
500 tickets away to the Grizzlies’ final home game before the
All-Star break.
Randolph will be giving away the tickets Monday in the lobby of
the FedExForum to Tuesday night’s game with Atlanta. The only
catch? First-come, first-served with a limit of two tickets per
person.
The forward says the fans’ support has helped him become an
All-Star for the first time, so he wanted to give something back.
He is the team’s leading scorer and rebounder and helped Memphis
rebound from a 1-8 start to a 26-22 record.
