Man Faces
Federal Charges for Gun Possession Kevin
Quartez Bond, age 20 of Jackson, was arrested today following an
indictment in United States District Court for Convicted Felon in
Possession of a Firearm. The charge arose from a joint investigation
between the Jackson Police Department and The Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).On January 2, 2008, Justin Cheatham was fatally shot by Jennifer Owens during the commission of an aggravated robbery at Owens and Bond residence of 51 B Lealand Lane. Bond had previously obtained and provided Ms. Owens with the weapon that was used to kill Cheatham. The District Attorney’s Office has determined that the homicide was justifiable. Kevin Bond will appear in U.S. District Court on a date to be determined by the court. He also faces additional State charges.
