Suspect in Kidnapping & Robbery The Jackson Police Department is investigating the kidnapping and robbery of a Jackson woman last night. Officers responded to the victim’s 911 call for help and found her in her vehicle at the Park Century Building Parking lot at 1408 N. Highland. A dog leash was wrapped around her throat and tied to the car’s headrest. The victim said she came out of the Dollar General Store at 1028 Campbell St. about 7:35 p.m. and got into her unsecured white Nissan Maxima. After entering the car, a suspect hiding in the back seat wrapped the leash around her neck, threatened her and her dog if she did not comply and directed her across Campbell and to the back of the Park Century Building near Highland Park Terrace Apartments on Gillman Lane. Once there, the suspect tied the lease around her neck to the car’s headrest. He searched her purse and removed a ring from her finger before fleeing on foot. The suspect is described as a dark complexioned black male, about 5'7"- 5' 9", with a deep voice, wearing a white sleeveless t-shirt. Anyone with information, contact Crime
Stoppers at 424-TIPS (8477) or the Violent Crimes Unit at the Jackson
Police Department at 425-8400.
